Abstract

Team quiz is a learning activity in groups, each group must be able to responsible for their team’s tasks, then discuss and make questions answer quiz between teams. The use of this method makes students active in learning and expected to grow the students’ motivation in learning English. The purpose of this study was to find out the level of students motivation in learning English by using team quiz method at the second grade of SMK PGRI on 2022/2023 academic year. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research with survey methods. The population of this study were students of class XI at SMK PGRI Enrekang and the sample choosed consist of 40 students. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistic. The results of this study show that the level of students’ motivation in learning English by using team quiz method at the second grade of SMK PGRI Enrekang is relatively high. Based on the results of data analysis, there were 0 (0%) students who had a very high level of learning motivation, 33 (82.5%) students who had a high level of learning motivation, 5 (12.5%) students who had a medium level of learning motivation, 2 (5%) students who had a low level of learning motivation, and 0 (0%) students who had a very low level of motivation. The results of mean score obtained value̅ 3,69 on interval distance of 3.41-4.20. So, it was categorized as high motivation
