Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning strategies used by English teachers at SMAN 7 Pinrang in teaching in second grade. The question to be answered from this research is what strategies are used by the teacher in teaching speaking speaking at SMAN 7 Pinrang? The research used qualitative methods, the informants of this study were second grade teachers. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used with Data Collection, Data Reduction, Displaying Data, Conclusion and Verification. The result of the research found strategy for teachers in teaching speaking skills that were used by the teachers at SMAN 7 Pinrang. it is namely Teacher‟s strategies in teaching English e-learning classes used Discussion Method ,and Drilling technique. And also there are several factors that become supporting factors and become an inhibiting factor in carrying out the learning process, among others Lack of guidance ,Internet access is not smooth and has no gadget the teacher finds some problems students in following the learning process the teacher takes action to give instructions to students to call directly to him via chat on WhatsApp and open the opportunity to come to the village directly for consultation on problems faced during the learning process and SMAN 7 Pinrang has also provided learning classes for students who have problems such as not having gadget, internet and network quotas during learning.
