Abstract
The aims of this research to finding teacher's pedagogical competence in teaching reading comprehension at the ninth grade students of SMPN 4 Sendana and student reading comprehension at the ninth grade students of SMPN 4 Sendana. This type of research is a qualitative study of data sources in qualitative research as for the data sources in this study consist of primary data and secondary data using data through observation research, interview, test and documentation with data analysis using qualitative method of analysis. From the results of this research if analyzed English teachers from ninth grade in SMP 4 Sendana can be declared already had a good pedagogical competence this can be seen from the way teachers guide, manage learning, understand learners , planning and evaluating learners, learning outcomes, but still need to be improved for better and reading comprehension students are still lacking due to lack of vocabulary they should had mastered, test results that had been In giving teachers to the students as much as 20 questions to 27 students the average value obtained 69.5 see from the standard of the kkm is 70.00 then reading comprehension students carried on average so that still low reading comprehension based on the tests that had been Performed by the teacher.
