Abstract
Students are various in terms of intellectual quality, scientific quantity, and psychological tendencies. Teachers are hopefully in the moderate stance in treating the various students. Teachers are also hopefully objective in epistemological aspect, and implementing holistic and flexible methods, strategies, and approaches. Choosing methods should be accurate, in accordance with the various factors, so that the result of will be satisfying. There are three methods of teaching: hikmah, mau’izah, and jidal. Hikmah refers to a method directed towards people with high level of intellectual; mau’izah refers to a method directed to simple people, by giving them advices and metaphors that could touch their souls; and jidal refers to a method directed to the ahl al-kitab and other religions, by conducting fair debate and nice rhetoric, without violence and curse.
