Abstract

The longstanding issues of poverty alleviation and unemployment in Indonesia remain unresolved. Islam views poverty as a threat to morality, rationality, families, and society as a whole. The current government has various poverty alleviation programs, including social assistance-based programs, community empowerment, and support for small businesses, implemented by various governmental elements, including the Ministry of Agriculture. The essence of Bedah Kemiskinan Rakyat Sejahtera (BEKERJA) program is to enhance the economic growth of impoverished communities, thereby improving their welfare and reducing poverty rates in Indonesia. This research utilizes a qualitative method, employing both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data is obtained directly from the source through interviews, observations, and unofficial document reports, then processed by the researcher. Secondary data refers to information obtained indirectly through intermediaries or documents. The findings reveal that: 1) BEKERJA program in Salutambung Village provides two types of assistance: providing complete chicken farming kits including coop costs, feed, vitamins, and medicines, and providing goat livestock assistance. 2) The implementation of the BEKERJA program in Salutambung Village generally failed to improve the welfare of the community because it faced a number of challenges, including lack of preparation, ineffective socialization, and obstacles in managing aid. 3) The Prosperous People's Poverty Surgery Program (BEKERJA) in Salutambung Village has not had a significant impact on the welfare of the people in Salutambung Village. 4) From an Islamic economic point of view, the Prosperous People's Poverty Surgery Program, in terms of benefits, the Prosperous People's Poverty Surgery Program has not provided any benefit for its recipients, because it has not been able to improve the welfare of the poor people in Salutambung Village
