Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of using short stories from YouTube channels in enhancing reading skills among Office Management students at SMK Negeri 1 Parepare. The primary problem addressed is whether short stories from YouTube can significantly improve students' reading comprehension. The study aims to determine if there is a notable difference in reading skills before and after the intervention using short stories An experimental design was employed, involving pre-tests and post-tests to evaluate reading comprehension levels. The pre-test assessed students‘ baseline reading skills, while the post-test measured improvements after the intervention. Data analysis revealed a significant improvement: the mean score increased from 58 in the pre-test to 77 in the post-test. The t-test value was 1.82, which exceeded the critical value of 1.729. Consequently, the null hypothesis was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. The findings indicate that the use of short stories from YouTube channels effectively enhances students' reading skills. This suggests that integrating multimedia resources like YouTube can be a valuable approach in improving reading
