Abstract

The purpose of this learning is to determine whether or not the use of Big City Adventure effective or not to improve the vocabulary Mastery of students’ which are expected to help teachers in teaching vocabulary so that it becomes easier by using Big City Adventure Media Game. This reserach is pre-experimental research the population in this study is the students’ of SMP AL BIRRU Parepare. The sample technique used was random sampling so that a sample of 25 students was obtained. The data collection technique used in this study was a test. The result of this research indicates that there was an improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery. It was showed in the students’ mean score of post-test (85.2) that was greater than pre-test (60.4). Even, for the level significant (p) 5% and df = 24, and the value of t-table is 1.711, while the value of t-test is 2.27 It means that, the t-test value is greater than t-table (2.27 ≥ 1.711). Thus, it can be concluded that the students’ vocabulary mastery is significant better after getting the treatment. So, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accept. The result of this research find that the use of Big City Adventure Media Game is effective in improving the vocabulary mastery of students in SMP AL BARRU Parepare based on these calculations that t-test count is greater than t-table, thus the hypothesis is accepted
