Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted based on phenomena that occurred in society. There was a process of slaughtering animals like chickens, ducks, and geese which were sometimes not by Islamic law, especially the slaughter carried out in community markets. The food that Muslims eat must be halal and good, but the facts were different in society. Only a few people have skills in the process of slaughtering animals, they were the imam of the mosque and its syara employees. Every Muslim should, especially men, have skills in slaughtering animals. By doing this research, students were hoped to get skills, especially in slaughtering animals. It was conducted to improve students' slaughter skills using a simulation method carried out in two cycles. This is in collaboration with the fiqh teacher at MI DDI Kajuangin. This research was conducted by adopting the Kemmis and McTaggart model with 4 cycle stages, namely (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. These four stages were carried out by involving two observers to assist in the research process. The simulation method was carried out on fiqh subjects with slaughter material. The animal slaughtered was chickens. The number of students in class VI of MI DDI Kajuangin was 17 people. The observation sheet of this study found that Cycle I had a result of 57.5% which was a pretty good category. Then in Cycle II, it increased to 80% which was a good category that had already met the predetermined minimum criteria of 75%. As for the results of observing the improvement of students' skills, it was found in cycle I that the results obtained by observers I and II were 73% and 68.19%. From this value, the minimum completeness criteria had not been met. In cycle II, the results obtained by the two observers respectively were 75% and 80%. Thus, this cycle had reached the target and did not need to be continued to Cycle III. A conclusion can be drawn that the use of the simulation method could improve students' animal slaughter skills in the subject of jurisprudence at MI DDI Kajuangin.
