Abstract

The Cubing Technique is a structured approach used in teaching and writing instruction to help students generate ideas and develop them into cohesive pieces of writing. It involves six distinct perspectives or sides through which students analyze and explore a topic.The purpose of this research is to examine to know the use of the has an effects or not of the cubing technique on students' descriptive writing ability in the second year of MA DDI Lil-Banat Parepare. This research used experimental design with pre experimental with one-group pretest-posttest design, technique of collecting data using pre-tes, treatment and posttest. the total sample was 32 students and the instrument used writing test with analyze data with hypothesis test. The result of the research showed that the using of Cubing Technique effective to improve students’ descriptive text writing ability at the second year which proved from the pretest score for 62,63 while post-test scored for 80,19 which categorized as Excellent category. The using of Cubing Technique implemented with 6 meetings with indicator of describe, compare, associate, analyzed, applied and argue is successfully improve the students’ writing ability.
