Abstract

Parents' Democratic Parenting Patterns in Children's Social Development. Parenting patterns and social interactions have a fairly close correlation. Parenting given to children will affect children's social interactions. Democratic parenting has a major influence on the social development of children. When compared with other parenting styles, namely permissive and authoritarian. Democratic parenting is a parenting pattern that is characterized by parental recognition of the child's abilities, children are given the opportunity not to always depend on their parents. Parents give a little freedom to children to choose what is best for themselves, children are heard of their opinions, are involved in conversations, especially those related to the child's own life. Children are given the opportunity to develop their internal control so that little by little they practice being responsible to themselves. Children are involved and given the opportunity to participate in managing their lives. Conditions of parenting like this cause children to have the following characteristics: Friendly, confident, able to control, polite, willing to cooperate, have high curiosity, have a goal or direction that clear, achievement oriented, dare to have an opinion.
