Abstract

In the treasures of Islamic thought, the name Muhammad Iqbal as one of the Islamic thinkers whose philosophical thoughts resulted in existential philosophy. Iqbal wrote his thoughts through poetry in asrar-i-khudi. The substance of Khudi's philosophical thought is personal, and self-development in Islamic society. In this study, the authors seek, explore, and find the thoughts of Muhammad Iqbal's Islamic existential philosophy that can be used as a basis for conducting Islamic counseling. This study uses library research research methods, examines, analyzes the literature that discusses Khudi's Existential philosophy. The results of the study illustrate that the basic thought of Khudi's philosophy comes from the Qur'an and As-Sunnah. Which is in line with the foundation of Islamic counseling services. Islam places humans in the most exalted position and denies the resemblance of humans to animals, Iqbal's rationale that can be adopted in Islamic counseling services. Thoughts about human nature, weak humans and superior human characteristics, Khudi's philosophy also discusses freedom, responsibility, awareness, love, being authentic and efforts to achieve the highest personal position of Insan Kamil. The process of self-development towards human beings in three stages, the first stage of obedience, the second stage, Self-Control, and the third stage of Divine viceregency.
