Abstract

Nur Rahmi Abd.Rahim. Designing a Practice Based English Grammar Module for Mahasantri of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah IAIN Parepare. (Supervised by Nurul Hasanah). This research aims to design a practice-based English grammar module for Ma’had Al-Jami’ah IAIN Parepare students. The study is conducted based on the issue that grammar learning in the Ma’had context is still largely theoretical and has not fully helped students apply grammar in daily communication. Therefore, this research focuses on identifying students' learning needs, designing an appropriate grammar module, and validating the feasibility of the developed module. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected thru observation, interviews, limited implementation, and expert validation. This module is designed based on the learning needs of students and the daily life context of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah IAIN Parepare. The findings indicate that students need simple, contextual, practical, and communicative grammar learning materials. The developed module, titled English is Easy, consists of several grammar units supported by explanations, examples, exercises, guided speaking practice, self-reflection, and digital features such as QR codes, Quizizz, and YouGlish. Limited implementation results show that the module is engaging, systematic, easy to understand, and relevant to students' daily activities. Expert validation also indicates that the module is valid and worthy of use after revision, particularly in terms of grammatical accuracy, readability, contextual relevance, layout, and pedagogical aspects. Thus, the practice-based English grammar module can be used as supplementary teaching material to help students learn grammar more practically and apply it in daily communication.
