Abstract

This article discusses the philosophical and theological dimensions of inclusive da’wa in Islam, focusing on how people with disabilities can live religiously within a framework of justice and dignity. Using a philosophical–hermeneutical qualitative approach, the study reinterprets Qur’anic and hadith narratives on disability and integrates them with empirical findings from mosque accessibility research in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The results reveal that while Islam provides a strong ethical foundation for equality through principles such as ʿadl (justice), raḥmah (compassion), and ʿadam al-ḥaraj (elimination of hard-ship), the implementation of these values remains limited. Many mosques still fail to meet accessibility standards, reflecting a charitable rather than rights-based mindset. The study proposes a Reflective–Participatory Da’wa Model that redefines religious outreach as a transformative praxis of justice, emphasizing collaboration, inclusion, and the recognition of persons with disabilities as active subjects of faith. This model aims to align Islamic theology with the lived realities of believers, ensuring that inclusivity becomes both a spir-itual and social obligation within the Muslim community.
