Abstract

Sevima Edlink is an online learning platform created by the Indonesian nation. Sevima Edlink was used as one of platform online learning in the universities or campus today. This research aims to investigate how the lecturer use of Sevima Edlink for teaching English, the activitties in teaching English by using Sevima Edlink and the impacts of using Sevima Edlink. This research was conducted in IAIN Parepare involved ten lecturers of English Education Under graduate Program as the research subjects. This research applied a qualitative descriptive as the research design. In collecting the data, the researcher applied interview, and documentation. The data was then processed by using the technique of data analysis based on Miles and Huberman involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the use of Sevima Edlink in trhee categorize the use of Sevima Edlink, they are mono-feature, bi-features, and multi-feaatures. Further more English teaching activities start from preparing materials, uploading materials, conducting discussions and asking questions using either video conferences or forum discussions on Sevima Edlink, and giving assignments through the assignment feature. Then give scoring and feedback. Moreover, the good impact of Sevima Edlink consist; makes teaching activities easy, Helps the Teaching Process Continue to Run Effectively in the Midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic, comfortable to use and helps the teaching process, help teaching because the features are structured and manageable. Meanwhile the bad impact: interfere with the teaching process the limited duration of the video conference and take a lot of qouta internet, some of the ineffective teaching processes are constrained by the cost of quotas and limited internet access, make the classroom atmosphere less interactive and difficult to control the class, the learning process is disrupted due to notifications that do not appear and sometime students are not detected on the attendance list.
