Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify teaching strategies used by English teachers at MA Al-Badar Parepare, to know the reason of EFL teachers impelement that strategies, to know how do the EFL teachers implement that strategies and to know the impact of the EFL teacher teaching strategies on the students learning outcomes. The results of this study are really beneficial for the teachers and students because they get proper information about the EFL teachers’ strategy that can be apply in teaching. The subject of this research is 2 English teachers who taught at MA Al-Badar Parepare. This research was conducted by qualitative design. The instrument of this research was the observation, interview, and document. The research conducted in 45 days including of data analysis. The techniques of analyzing data were reduction of the data, presenting the data, and drawing a conclusion. This research shows teaching strategies used by one of the EFL teachers in teaching English at MA Al-Badar Parepare, those are Controlled Strategy, Semi-Controlled Strategy, Free Strategy. The reason of the teachers In choosing the strategies include the choice of teaching strategy related to objectives to be achieved and the choice of teaching strategy related to the needs and characteristics of students. In implementing the strategies the teachers use some techniques that are adapted to the chosen strategy and before implement the strategy the teachers make observation first whether the strategy was following the material and whether the strategy is appropriate the characteristics of the students. The students' learning outcomes have reached the specified competency standards. and based on the percentage of students’ score it can be seen that the students’ score there were some students got very good score and some of students got good category.
