Abstract

Pandemic Covid-19 makes teaching and learning process must be done online at home that is mean the teacher should more smart and interesting in delivering teaching material. One of the media that is quite helpful in carrying out the learning process during Covid-19 is video because it can make easier for teachers to distribute material. This research focused on finding out how is the use video in teaching English during Covid-19 and the effect of using video in teaching English toward students’ achievement at the third grade of MAN Pinrang. This study use quantitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this study are questionnaire, observation and documentation. This study was explains the results with numbers and description of the use of video. The analysis of this research is simple linier regression analysis. In the sample technique the researchers used random sampling and take 3 classes which is MIPA 1, 2, and 6 out of a total of 90 students. This research used to see the effect between two variables. After doing research and based on the result of research that have been carried out by researchers regarding the effect of using video toward students’ achievement, it can be concluded that from a simple linear regression test with a significance level of 0.279 > 0.05, it cannot be used to predict the variable students’ achievement or in other words there is no effect between the two variables, based on this information Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected.
