Abstract

Sufryatna Syukri. Enchanching the students’ pronunciation by Using English Vocabulary application at SMAN 4 Parepare. (Supervised by Dr. Magdahalena M.Hum) This study examines the effectiveness of the English Vocabulary Application in improving the pronunciation skills of class X students at SMAN 4 Parepare. A pre-experimental design using a quantitative approach was implemented, involving a pre-test and post-test administered to 36 students selected through purposive sampling. An oral pronunciation test served as the primary instrument. The findings show a substantial improvement in students’ pronunciation performance, with the mean score increasing from 36.13 (Poor) to 80.47 (Good). Statistical analysis using the paired sample t-test revealed a t-value of 46.57, surpassing the t-table value of 2.052 at the 0.05 significance level, indicating a significant effect of the application. These results demonstrate that the English Vocabulary Application is an effective digital medium for enhancing students’ pronunciation for sound, intonation, stress and overall performance.
