Andi Adryan. 2026. The Influence of Real Life App Integrated with Project-Based Learning in Enhancing Students’ Speaking Skill at SMAN 1 Barru. Thesis. English Education Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Parepare. (Supervised by Hj. Nurhamdah.S.Ag.,M.Pd.) This study aimed to determine whether the integration of the Real Life App and Project-Based Learning (PBL) had a significant effect on students’ speaking skills at SMAN 1 Barru. The study employed a pre-experimental method using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The population consisted of eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Barru in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, involving 36 students from class XI F1. The instrument used in this study was a speaking test assessed based on five aspects: comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and fluency. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality testing, and a paired-samples t-test through SPSS version 32.0. The findings revealed that the students’ mean score increased from 54.11 in the pre-test to 58.22 in the post-test, indicating an improvement in speaking performance. The result of the paired-samples t-test showed that the significance value (p < 0.001) was lower than the significance level of 0.05, with t(35) = -5.57. These findings indicate that there was a statistically significant difference between students’ speaking performance before and after the treatment. Furthermore, students demonstrated greater confidence, participation, and willingness to communicate in English during the learning process. It can be concluded that the integration of the Real Life App with Project-Based Learning had a significant positive effect on students’ speaking skills at SMAN 1 Barru. Therefore, this approach can be considered an effective strategy for enhancing students’ speaking ability through authentic communication and project-based activities.
