Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of the clustering technique can improve the narrative text writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Barru. The primary issue underlying this research was that many students faced difficulties in generating, developing, and organizing their ideas logically and coherently into English compositions. The research method used was quantitative with a pre-experimental design (one-group pre-test and post-test design). The population of this study consisted of all 432 tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Barru. The research sample was selected using the cluster random sampling technique, which designated class E.1, consisting of 36 students, as the research subjects. The instrument used was a narrative text writing test administered during the pre-test (before treatment) and post-test (after treatment) sessions. The collected data were then statistically analyzed using the data analysis menu (Paired Two Sample for Means) in Microsoft Excel.
