Abstract
Rahmasari. 2026. The Implementation of U-Dictionary application in Increasing Vocabulary at SMKN 1 Parepare (Supervised by Ambo Dalle and Munawir) Vocabulary mastery is essential in english learning,yet many students at SMKN 1 Parepare still encounter difficulties. The U-Dictionary application offers practical and interactive features that are expected to increasing students vocabulary mastery.This thesis aims to determine whether the use of the U-Dictionary electronic dictionary is effective or not in improving students’ vocabulary mastery at SMKN 1 Parepare. This research used pre-experimental study using a pre-test and post-test design. The pre-test was conducted to assess students’ vocabulary before the intervention. The post-test was conducted to assess the improvement in students’ vocabulary after the intervention. The population of the research was the 10th-grade students at SMKN 1 Parepare. There were 3 class, each consisting of 17 students, for a total population is 51. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The researcher selected two 10th-grade class as the sample, consisting of 34 students. The research instrument used was a vocabulary test. The data were analyzed using SPSS. The result of the statistical analysis show that the mean pretest score was 53.53 and the mean posttest score was 82.06. The results were P = 0.00, while α = 0.05. It can be concluded that α is greater than P, with degrees of freedom (df) = 34 – 1 = 33. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Based on the analysis result, it could be concluded that the use of Electronic U- Dictionary is effective in teaching vocabulary.
