Abstract

The study aims to describe the effects of parenting patterns with a long-distance marriage to child psychology. Where the study was conducted on two families in the Tokol village, sub-district, Pamekasan district through a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection methods are conducted using live interviews and observations. Data analysis through the data reduction stage, data display, data verification and deduction withdrawal. Research indicates that (1) parenting practices adopted by a parent may be one of the key factors in shaping a child's character. (2) democratic upbringing, leaving children with little fear or hesitation to share their grievances, thus strengthening the relationship between children and parents, makes the impact more positive. (3) the negative effects of authoritarian parenting have caused children to become withdrawn and prone to high depression asa result of inadequately fulfilling their feelings, desires, and needs. This is what psychological impact children have on the negative.
