Abstract

Writing is one of the language skills and productive skill that will be learned by students in junior high school, senior high school, and university. Students will be able to express their ideas and feeling by English writing. This research aimed to see the improvement of students before and after learning process by using Praise Question Polish technique. This research was carried out of MA Lil Banat Parepare. This technique was selected to stimulate the student to be more creative and their writing ability can improve. This study was pre-experimental design. The population of this research were the students of XI IPA which is consisted of 23 students in academic year 2019/2020. The instrument of this research was a writing test, Writing test consisted of narrative text that used to found the students ability in writing by implementing of Praise Question Polish technique. The procedures of implementing Praise Question Polish technique in teaching writing narrative text in this research as follows: (1) Praise (what do you like in the text), (2) Question (what do you not understand in the text), (3) Polish (give suggestion to improve students writing ability). In this research, the researcher took a test of their improvement in pre-test and post-test. In the pre-test found the T-tes value was 8,5 and T-table was 1,753. The result of this research shows that Using Praise Question Polish Technique able to improve student’s Writing Ability at MA Lil Banat Parepare.
